Caroline Rockafellow

A Proven Leader for Meredith

I bring three decades of distinguished legal experience and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law to my campaign for State Representative. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, where I also earned my law degree, I help shape the next generation of legal minds while maintaining deep roots in our community.

After nearly thirty years practicing business, intellectual property, and corporate law, I understand the challenges facing New Hampshire businesses and families. My extensive legal career has reinforced my strong commitment to the U.S. and New Hampshire Constitutions — principles that guide my vision for responsible governance.

I fell in love with Meredith over thirty years ago when I first visited my husband’s family cabin on Meredith Bay. My husband, Scott, and I became fully committed to the Meredith community thirteen years ago when we purchased our home, becoming full-time residents six years ago. We have two adult sons who both reside in Manchester.

Focused on What Matters

My platform focuses on the critical issues facing Meredith families

Excellence in Education

As the daughter of two teachers and an adjunct professor myself, I believe New Hampshire must maintain a strong public school system that prepares students to be productive, engaged citizens. I advocate for student-focused decisions that balance educational excellence with fiscal responsibility, ensuring our schools have engaged educators and appropriate resources while managing taxpayer dollars wisely.

Solving the Housing Crisis

Home ownership connects people to their communities and represents a commitment to our state's future. I recognize that young families and essential workers struggle to find affordable housing in New Hampshire. I support innovative, locally-tailored solutions that incentivize construction of entry-level housing and renovation of existing properties, understanding that what works for small towns like Meredith differs from the needs of large cities like Manchester.

Supporting NH Businesses

Drawing from my early career representing small businesses, I witnessed firsthand how entrepreneurs take risks to pursue their dreams, often becoming significant employers and community contributors. I champion laws and regulations that encourage rather than discourage entrepreneurship and business growth, recognizing that a thriving business community strengthens our entire state.

Service

I have a proven commitment to public service. My extensive leadership and professional experience demonstrate a lifelong dedication to strengthening our communities through active involvement and principled leadership.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Greater Meredith Program, where I co-chair both its Economic Development Committee and Volunteer Task Force, working to enhance our local economy and civic engagement. As Vice President of the Lakes Region Federated Republican Women, I champion conservative values throughout our region.

My past volunteer experience also includes:

  • Former School Board Chair & Budget Committee Lead
  • National Board of Directors, Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada)
  • Board of Governors, Certified Licensing Professionals
  • Superintendent’s Advisory Committee Member

My Approach to Serving Meredith

My Promise

If I am elected as your representative, I will make the time to be available to hear your concerns. I will do my best to be as informed as possible on all of the issues under consideration. I will be transparent on how and why I have voted on issues.

Regardless of whether you have voted for me or not, regardless of whether you are conservative or liberal, Republican, Democrat, or Independent, if I am elected I will be your representative and will do my best to represent the interests of our beautiful Town of Meredith to the best of my abilities.

I truly believe that when the people elect representatives and send them to Concord, they have put their trust in that individual. It is a heavy responsibility and not one to be taken lightly. I have very intentionally not chosen to run for office until I was in a position to have the time necessary to devote to that role. Being an effective and engaged State Representative is not an easy role, and I fully commit to the voters of Meredith that I will take this role seriously, do my best to be fully engaged, and devote the time and energy necessary to be an effective representative of Meredith.

My Philosophy

I live by the mantra of “Be Curious and Not Judgmental.” We have all had different experiences in life that influence our perspective on any issue. For this reason, I ask lots of questions and always try to understand the real drivers behind any issue.

For every issue under consideration or bill under review, I will always ask three questions: (1) What is the goal? (2) Does this achieve that goal? (3) What is the argument against? I will always be guided by a focus on the ultimate goals for any issue.

Decorum and respect for differing opinions is important. I pride myself on the ability to engage in constructive political debate. I may not agree with you, but I do want to understand your thoughts on topics.

I pledge to continue to be actively engaged in the Meredith community, open to ongoing conversations with residents, and I will always encourage and listen to differing opinions on all topics.
