Dallas Emery Jr. has spent decades building things in Ossipee — both literally and in town government.
He's worked as a contractor for more than 30 years and still takes on projects when he can, alongside his full-time job in outside sales at a local lumberyard. That hands-on background carries straight into his public service.
Emery currently serves as an Ossipee selectman and chairs the zoning board. He spent four years on the budget committee, and he's been a regular presence at planning board meetings and nearly every county commissioner's meeting for years.
He's not new to this work, and he's not doing it for a title. He shows up because he cares about how Ossipee and Carroll County are run.
Dallas and his wife will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year. He's running for the New Hampshire House in Carroll 7 because he believes local experience and steady involvement matter in Concord — not just at town meetings.

Lower Property Taxes
Dallas Emery Jr. will fight to increase state education funding to towns in Carroll 7, taking pressure off the local property tax bills that fund our schools. He will oppose any broad-based sales or income tax while pushing to cap unfunded state mandates that force towns like Conway, Tamworth, and Eaton to raise property taxes to cover Concord's decisions. He will also support returning a larger share of the Meals and Rooms Tax revenue to towns, since Carroll County's tourism dollars should help lower the tax burden on the families and retirees who live here year-round.
School Choice
Dallas Emery Jr. will vote to expand New Hampshire's Education Freedom Account program so families in Carroll County towns like Conway, Tamworth, and Ossipee can direct education dollars to the public, charter, or private school that works for their child. He will push to raise or eliminate the income eligibility caps on EFAs so middle-class families aren't shut out simply because both parents work. With property taxes already the primary funding source for local schools in towns across Carroll 7, he will fight against any funding scheme that forces taxpayers to pay twice—once through property taxes and again through new fees for the choice they already deserve.
Medical and Health Freedom
Dallas Emery Jr. will file legislation to permanently bar any NH employer, school, or state agency from mandating vaccines as a condition of employment or education, building on the medical freedom protections the legislature has debated in recent sessions. He will vote against any expansion of state authority over personal medical decisions, including parental rights to make treatment choices for their children in Carroll County schools and clinics. He will oppose telehealth and prescribing restrictions that make it harder for rural North Country residents to access doctors already stretched thin across Carroll 7 towns.
No Tax On Social Security & An Elderly Tax Cap
Dallas Emery Jr. will introduce legislation to expand and standardize the elderly property tax exemption across Carroll County towns, capping annual increases so seniors on fixed incomes aren't taxed out of homes they've owned for decades. He will push to raise the income and asset thresholds for the existing elderly exemption program, which haven't kept pace with rising home values in towns like Conway and Tamworth. With no state income tax, New Hampshire seniors are hit hardest by property taxes, and Dallas will fight to keep Social Security and pension income fully shielded from any new state-level tax schemes.
