Campaign Letter: Two Different Paths - October 23, 2026 Windham Independent
I was born and raised in Romania, where the communist regime was only overthrown when I was 22 years old. My wife and I spent over ten years going through the naturalization process to become US citizens, and we chose to raise our kids in New Hampshire because we believe it is the best state of the best country in the world.
Since moving here, I have served Windham as a soccer and basketball coach, Chair of the Windham School Board, Town Finance Director, and state representative. I am running for re-election to help make Windham and New Hampshire better.
Sometimes, we forget how good we have it here. Here are some of the rankings where New Hampshire is in the top three nationally: Lowest poverty rate, lowest infant mortality rate, healthiest state, best air quality, freest state, child wellbeing, economic wellbeing, literacy rate, car ownership cost, lowest workplace fatality rate, state tax burden, overall tax burden, lowest health insurance cost as % of income, homicide rate, safest state, least corrupt state.
This is not to say that everything is perfect - housing is a challenge. The property taxes (driven mostly by school budgets) are growing faster than the rate of inflation, pushing people out of their homes. Affordability is a serious concern.
But overall, New Hampshire is one of the top states in the country, because of long term policies driven by the Republicans and vigorously opposed by the Democratic legislators.
We have a clear history of protecting the New Hampshire Advantage, of lowering taxes for everyone, of supporting parental rights. We made New Hampshire one of the safest states in the country. We protected everyone’s constitutional rights.
And we are on the record with our proposed future policies - banning income taxes through a proposed constitutional amendment, keeping property taxes under control, reducing red tape to help everyone thrive, lowering energy bills, lowering health care costs, protecting parental rights, and supporting public safety.
Our agenda will be fought against by Democratic politicians who made it clear they want to massively increase government spending at all levels (just last term, we defeated Democrat bills looking to spend more than $3 billion). To pay for that spending, they will need to pass an income tax and raise business taxes, wrecking the New Hampshire Advantage in the process.
Connecticut fell for the false promise of lower property taxes through creating an income tax a couple of decades ago - today, their property taxes are third highest in the country, their income tax is up to 6.99% and their sales tax is 6.35%.
Your vote on November 3 will help decide the path our state will follow - we can continue on our current course of increasing prosperity and freedom, or we can join every other New England state in their race to see who can spend more by taxing their residents in every conceivable way.
I need your support to continue serving Windham - see you at the polls!
