On to the general election - September 16, 2022 Windham Independent
On to the general election!
I am truly grateful for all the support I received during the primary, which led to me becoming one of the four Republicans who will move on to the general election. It was a close race, with all 5 state representative candidates working hard and running clean campaigns - I have a lot of respect for their commitment to running for office and for the time and effort they put into their campaigns.
Before moving forward though, I must acknowledge how much I learned during the primary campaign. Having served for three years on the School Board and as the Town Finance Director for six and a half years (from December 2015 to June 2022), I already knew a lot about the town and its residents, but the many conversations I had while knocking on over 2,000 doors taught me so much more. I heard so many stories about the challenges our residents face, about their concerns for the way the state is run, about their hopes and dreams, about what they need from the state government to achieve their goals and so much more.
Those conversations (and the ones that will happen through November 8) are a big part of what drives me to run for office. We need legislators who understand that they are there to serve, not to rule over our lives because they don’t trust us to make our own decisions - that has always been and will always be my approach to public service.
New Hampshire is a great state to live in, but our freedom is under constant attack. We are also heading into tough economic times, so we cannot get complacent - we have to invest a lot of time and effort into making New Hampshire an even better place to live for our children and grandchildren.
The primary is in the rear view mirror - it is now time for us to start working together so we can win the state and federal seats we need to keep New Hampshire going in the right direction. I am excited about the general election campaign, the many great conversations, and the hard work ahead - let’s go!
