Common Sense for Amherst
A financial planner who sat at kitchen tables helping families build real plans — now ready to bring that same discipline to Concord.
Built for the
Hard Questions
Diane Layton spent her career making numbers make sense for real people — first as a Wall Street broker, then as a certified personal financial planner sitting around kitchen tables helping families build sensible plans for their futures.
When Diane and her husband moved to Amherst eight years ago, she didn't wait for an invitation to get involved. She has served five years on the Town Ways & Means Committee — including today — scrutinizing how Amherst spends its money. She has volunteered at town elections as a ballot clerk and helped tally the votes.
This is her fifth year as Treasurer of the local Souhegan Valley chapter of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women. In 2022, she ran a very successful “Stuff the Bus” event for SHARE. She has served as Vice President of the Amherst Republican Committee and edited its monthly newsletter.
In 2024, Diane ran for State Representative from Amherst — and loved every conversation at every front door. She's back, she's listening, and she's ready to work.
“I am committed to keeping our state income tax FREE — and free from as many other taxes as possible.”

Common Sense.
Not Complicated.
Lower Taxes & No Income Tax
New Hampshire's advantage is simple: we let families keep what they earn. Diane is committed to keeping our state income tax free — and free from as many other taxes as possible. She supports putting control of which taxes we pay, and how much, directly into the hands of the taxpayer, including through budget and tax caps.
Defending the Second Amendment
Diane believes the right to bear arms is sacrosanct. Governments sometimes overstep their boundaries, and citizens must retain the ability to counteract that and defend themselves. She will stand firmly against efforts to erode New Hampshire's strong tradition of firearm freedom.
Fiscal Discipline & Accountability
Republicans believe government should budget the way families do — spend less than you take in, justify every dollar, and plan for tomorrow. A certified financial planner's instinct for scrutiny belongs in Concord, where every line item is somebody's hard-earned paycheck.
