JD Bernardy
State Representative for Rockingham 36
Serving Hampton Falls · Kensington · Newton · Plaistow · South Hampton
Service to country. Service to community. The same steady hand in Concord that he brought to the deep.
A Life of Service
From the silent service of a fast attack submarine to the people's House in Concord.
JD Bernardy is the Republican State Representative for Rockingham District 36, serving Hampton Falls, Kensington, Newton, Plaistow and South Hampton.
Long before he took the oath of office in Concord, JD took another one. He is a United States Navy veteran who served aboard the fast attack submarine USS Jack (SSN‑605) — duty that demands discipline, precision, and an absolute trust in the people beside you. Those are the habits he carries into every committee hearing and every floor vote.
He is a father of four, and South Hampton has been his home town. This district is not an abstraction to him — it is the road he drives, the neighbors he knows, and the community his family calls home.
In the New Hampshire House, JD serves on the Science, Technology and Energy Committee, where he works on the issues that decide what Granite Staters pay to heat their homes and keep the lights on. He is the prime sponsor of legislation on energy generation and on election records, and has co‑sponsored bills addressing the use and preservation of body‑worn camera recordings and health insurance coverage for prosthetics.
It is a record built the New Hampshire way: quietly, seriously, and on behalf of the people who sent him there.
Principles Worth Defending
Clear priorities, steadily pursued — for the five towns of Rockingham 36.
Reliable, Affordable Energy
JD serves on the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee and is the prime sponsor of HB 1775 (2026), relative to utility ownership of natural gas and nuclear power generation facilities.
Election Integrity
JD is the prime sponsor of HB 1163 (2026), requiring the Secretary of State to create and maintain a uniform election records management system.
Fiscal Responsibility
Committed to the Republican principle that government must live within its means. Every dollar taken from a Granite State family should be spent with restraint, justified with evidence, and accounted for in full.
Supporting Law Enforcement
Committed to public safety and accountability alike. JD has co‑sponsored legislation on the use and preservation of body‑worn camera recordings — protecting officers and citizens with a clear, consistent standard.
Standing With Veterans & Patients
A Navy veteran himself, JD has co‑sponsored legislation on health insurance coverage for prosthetics — because those who have given much should not be left to fight their insurer alone.
Government Accountability
Committed to transparency in Concord. Public records should be uniform, public meetings open, and public officials answerable to the towns they represent — Hampton Falls, Kensington, Newton, Plaistow and South Hampton.
The Legislative Record
Bills filed. Work done. A record you can read for yourself.
Utility Ownership of Natural Gas & Nuclear Generation
Relative to utility ownership of natural gas and nuclear power generation facilities — legislation aimed squarely at the cost and reliability of the power New Hampshire families and employers depend on.
