Rooted in the Lakes Region
Scott Wallace grew up in Hampstead, went to Pinkerton Academy, and attended UNH. Summers on the lake and Pitchwood Island gave him roots in the Lakes Region that go back generations. He and his wife Heidi have been married since 1999. Together they raised two daughters in Meredith and New Hampton and now have two grandchildren.
Scott got into politics when government came for one of his businesses. About fifteen years ago, it was targeted for eminent domain seizure. He drove to Concord, testified in committee, and pushed until the legislature strengthened property rights protections. That experience turned a business owner into an advocate — and eventually a candidate. He won his first House race in 2016.
Before running, Scott spent his career as an auto repair shop owner. He knows what it takes to run a business, manage employees, and navigate state regulations. In Meredith, he's not a distant politician — he's a neighbor who has lived the very concerns his constituents bring to him.
On the Issues That Matter
Strong Borders
Scott will push for New Hampshire to join interstate compacts that support federal border enforcement and cut off state funding to any municipality that refuses to cooperate with ICE detainers. He will sponsor legislation requiring E-Verify for all state contractors, so illegal workers aren't undercutting New Hampshire tradespeople already squeezed by some of the highest property taxes in the country. When Washington fails to act, Scott will make sure Concord does.
Second Amendment
Scott will oppose any legislation that adds new restrictions on firearm ownership or carry rights in New Hampshire, and will vote against any red flag law proposals that come before the House. He will work to protect the state's existing constitutional carry law and push back on any federal overreach that attempts to undermine the rights of Granite Staters.
The NH Advantage
Scott will fight to keep New Hampshire free of a broad-based income or sales tax, protecting the foundation that makes this state attractive to families and businesses alike. He will work to reduce the property tax burden on Meredith residents by pushing state government to fund its obligations rather than shifting costs onto local communities, and will oppose unfunded mandates from Concord.
Property Rights
Scott will oppose any expansion of eminent domain powers that allow government to transfer private land to developers or other private interests. He will work to reform the property tax assessment process in Meredith and across Belknap County to ensure homeowners are not driven from their land by inflated valuations — and fight any Concord effort to shift more of that cost onto residential landowners.
Proven in Concord
Scott didn't come to the State House for a title. He came because government tried to take what he had built — and he refused to back down. He testified, he pushed, and he helped strengthen the property rights protections every Granite Stater relies on.
Since winning his first House race in 2016, Scott has built a record conservatives can trust — earning an A+ rating from the NRA, NHFC, and CPAC. He brings the discipline of a lifelong business owner and the conviction of a man who has seen firsthand what happens when government grows too big.
