PROVEN CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP

Terry Roy has delivered results for Rockingham District 31 over eight years in the State House. First elected in 2018, he now chairs the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. He's pushed through major legislation on bail reform, repeat offenders, and impaired driving enforcement.

Roy doesn't just talk about public safety. He serves on the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, helping create the state's first accreditation standards for police departments. This work improves accountability and builds public trust. The Office of the Secretary of Defense has recognized his legislation supporting military families three times running.

Before politics, Roy worked in law enforcement and investigations. He's a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Cold War and Gulf War. Roy votes against bad ideas regardless of who proposes them. He stops legislation that would weaken public safety or dump costs on local taxpayers. His background gives him the experience to spot problems others miss and the backbone to fix them.

KEY PRIORITIES

1

PROPERTY TAX RELIEF

Terry Roy will fight to reduce New Hampshire's property tax burden by supporting legislation that caps annual property tax increases and expands the state's property tax relief programs for seniors and working families. He will work to increase state funding for education to reduce the local property tax burden that forces New Hampshire residents to pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation. Roy will also push for reforms that prevent municipalities from forcing never ending higher costs onto property owners while preserving New Hampshire's advantage of having no income or sales tax.

He believes it's time to reexamine education delivery and funding. The cost of education has gone up exponentially with limited results. SAUs have increased administrative positions while classroom attendance numbers have declined. Teacher's unions have taken advantage of school boards across the state to provide their members with lucrative raises and benefits while the tax payers have seen stagnant salaries and benefits at best. The union stranglehold on our children and our wallets must be broken.

It's time to think outside the box and bring innovative solutions to break the cycle of higher taxes, finger pointing and less than optimal education outcomes for our children.

2

PUBLIC SAFETY

New Hampshire consistently ranks number 1 in safety and Terry wants to keep it that way. He has spent the last 8 years fighting Democrat attempts to import California style criminal justice "reform" to New Hampshire. When the Democrats had power for just two years, they destroyed our bail system turning police stations into revolving doors where criminals were bailed on so called cash free bail before the officer could even finish the police report. Working with Governor Ayotte, Terry was able to return our bail system to sanity and keep violent criminals where they belong. Given the chance, Democrats would have us right back to their failed experiments tomorrow. Terry will fight them at every turn and stand with our men and women of law enforcement. Democrats consistently try to vilify them, calling them racist, xenophobic and worse, for simply enforcing the law that we told them to enforce. They deserve better and our law abiding citizens deserve safety.
